Groundwork
The Problem
Mid-size construction firms were losing hours each week to fragmented scheduling tools, causing project delays and communication breakdowns across crews.
Our Role
Full product redesign — UX research, interaction design, design system, and front-end engineering.
The Outcome
Redesigned core scheduling UX led to a 30% reduction in project overhead within the first quarter of launch.
Discovery & Research
We embedded with three field crews and conducted 14 stakeholder interviews to understand where time was lost. Patterns emerged quickly: status updates were duplicated across three tools, and foremen had no single source of truth for crew assignments.
Design System
We built a component library optimized for glanceable information density — large touch targets, clear hierarchy, and offline-first data patterns that held up in areas with poor connectivity.
Engineering
The front end was rebuilt in React with a real-time sync layer. We introduced a conflict-resolution model that let multiple foremen edit the same schedule without overwriting each other.
