The Problem

A fintech dashboard product had grown organically over four years and was suffering from feature bloat, low daily engagement, and rising churn among power users.

Product strategy, information architecture, UX redesign, and engineering advisory.

The Outcome

Redesigned dashboard resulted in 2× increase in daily active users over 60 days post-launch.

Audit & Strategy

We audited 18 months of analytics, ran contextual inquiry sessions with 8 power users, and mapped every feature to actual usage frequency. 40% of the surface area was used by fewer than 3% of users.

We collapsed the navigation from 9 top-level items to 4, introduced a customizable widget system for the home view, and archived low-usage features behind a "labs" section.

The redesign shipped in phases over 6 weeks with a feature flag rollout. We defined a north star metric (weekly active sessions) and tracked it daily, intervening on two friction points before the full release.
